[Root] Rooting for Sony Xperia L (C2104, C2105)

[Root] Rooting for Sony Xperia L (C2104, C2105)

#Thread clean up due. Expect it this weekend. Sorry if the information below is confusing. Will fix ASAP.
This includes comprehensive steps which will include unlocking bootloader and getting your phone rooted.

****WARNING: Because this unlocks your bootloader hence you void your warranty.

PART A: UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER

Due to recent changes in script, you need to be partially rooted to run the script. Follow these steps first:

This root exploit was discovered by @ishanbhatnagr96
Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=42119438

Original script:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2228613

It is mostly the original script, except some changes to permissions that were needed as the script failed to run on my phone. (755 for pwn)

This uses MotoChopper. Motochopper is a root method made for the Motorola Razr HD by @djrbliss (Dan Rosenberg)

TO ROOT,

  1. Connect the phone in debugging mode via USB. To enable debugging mode, go to Settings => Development => Check "USB Debugging".
  2. Wait for the drivers to install. Happens automatically on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
  3. Download the zip file below and extract it.
  4. After extracting, run "Run.bat". Admin rights usually not needed.
  5. Follow On-Screen instructions.
  6. Partial Root complete. If the exploit fails to run, try running again.
  7. Lastly, Follow steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2332900

Do backup your TA partition as described in the thread above.

PART B: ROOTING YOUR XPERIA L

Now that you have unlocked the bootloader, it's time to get it rooted.

Proceed below:

NOW FOR THE FULL ROOT:
  1. Open Play Store, and install SuperSU by Chainfire. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....supersu&hl=en
  2. Open SuperSU and it will ask to update the binary file. Do that.
  3. If SuperSU exits, open it again, and now this time it will ask to uninstall the existing root management software(Superuser)
  4. Open SuperSU again, (if it exits), and now go to "Settings" and choose "Install SuperSU to /system"
  5. Reboot phone.
  6. Root completed.

FOR 4.2.2 (LOCKED/Unlocked BL)

Download

Extract the file and run runme_win.bat

Thanks to @amnher and @Snow_Basinger for sharing. Also thanks to @Bin4ry for the original script.

Thank You.
